CANTEEN BIKE BASH 2011

Take 50 bikes, plenty of keen volunteers, a great venue, and an amazing charity and you have the Northland Canteen Bike Bash 2011.

This year was bigger and better than before, with more bikes, a charity auction , which included such prizes as a

Carters Shed, signed All Blacks Jersey plus much, much more.

There was also plenty for the kids too including a bouncy castle, ride on cars, a trike a thon, zorbing and yummy food stalls.

The event started at 10am with teams changing riders every hour until 4pm when there was a special ceremony to remember all those who had been effected by cancer, especially teenagers and their families. This was very moving and reminded the many people who attended the bike bash why the event was so important.

A very big thank you had to go to Margie Crawford from Canteen who did an outstanding job of pulling everything together.  This was Margie’s first year at organising this event and she really did pull off an absolute outstanding day.

For those of you, who were in the Shaz’s Spinners Team, thank you for again getting behind this awesome event. And for those of you who weren’t so lucky…..there is always next year!
