Going nutty for nuts!

Did you know that eating nuts can actually help with weight loss!

Yes, you did read it right. Eating a small amount of good fats (unsaturated) with every meal has been proven to help with fat loss. Goods fats are things like Avocado, Olive oil, Seeds and Nuts. These nuts include walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, brazil nuts, peanuts, pecans, pistachio nuts, and macadamia nuts. So how do healthy nuts sugar craving try reaching for a handful of nuts instead of the biscuit tin. Eating a small handful of nuts everyday can provide you with amazing health benefits. So do it and go nutty help with weight loss? Because nuts satisfy your hunger they keep you fuller for longer, which helps you to avoid spikes in blood sugar which often causes us to make unhealthy choices. Nuts can also be a good source of folic acid, omega 3 as well as other essential vitamins and minerals. Rich in fibre, nuts have also been proven to help lower the risk of type 2 diabetes, lower cholesterol and lower the risk of strokes and heart disease. Like anything variety and moderation is the key.

So next time you get that 3 o’clock craving ditch the chocolate bar and go for a handful of nuts instead!

    Hi sharon, I love nuts too and find them good snack food to sustain me through the day – they keep me gong and I know they are better for me than sugar – mind you almonds covered in chocolate…..

    Love my seeds on my oatbran in the morning and also snacking on walnuts later in the day to stave off the sugar cravings. Still waiting for the weight loss!! :-)
