Incidental Exercise

Often the biggest barrier to exercise is “time” and now more than ever people seem to be “time poor”. This is where incidental exercise can help. What does incidental exercise mean. Incidental exercise is those small bites of exercise that you can fit into YOUR day!

Great examples of this are:

  • Walking to work, to school, to the shops etc
  • Biking instead of taking the car
  • Using the stairs instead of escalators or lifts
  • Lawn mowing
  • Vacuming
  • Gardening
  • Taking the kids to the park
  • Take a walk at lunchtime

One of the best ones I find is always pack your running/ walking shoes in your car and then have the driver pull over 15mins, 30 mins (or longer if you are really keen) before your final destination and then walk or run home!

Remember small things can make a BIG DIFFERENCE
